The 905 tool is used to help assist with the head leveling verification. The tool is attached to the stereotaxic manipulator, lowered down onto the skull. Visual inspection to verify if the head is level by means of the two probe tips.

The probe tips can be placed 2mm to 12mm separation depending on the species you are working with. The tool provides for accurate positioning in the A/P and M/L plane to level head in both planes.
