Vicryl Rapid (Polyglactin 910)
Coated multifilament for use in soft tissue, short-term wound support and rapid absorption. Typically provides effective support for about 7–10 days, with absorption completed in ~42 days, making it suitable when fast healing and no suture removal are desired.
Monocryl (Polyglecaprone 25)
Monofilament for use in general soft tissue. Low tissue drag and smooth passage; offers support for up to ~2–3 weeks with absorption in ~90–120 days, frequently selected for subcuticular and cosmetic closure within Ethicon absorbable sutures.
Vicryl (Polyglactin 910)
Multifilament for use in soft tissue, micro and ophthalmic surgery & nerve adaptation. Known for predictable handling and knot security; generally maintains support for ~2–3 weeks with absorption in ~56–90 days, a versatile choice across many absorbable sutures indications.
PDS II (Polydioxanone)
Monofilament for use in general soft tissue, micro and ophthalmic surgery. Provides extended strength retention (up to ~6 weeks) with absorption typically completed in ~180–210 days, suitable where prolonged support is preferred (e.g., fascia).
