How to use (best practice)

Apply to clean, dry fur with a steady stroke, avoiding the skin. Allow a brief dry time before returning animals to the home cage. Reapply as the mark softens over time. Use gloves and a lab coat—pigments can stain. Follow local SOPs for handling near sensitive areas (eyes, nose, genital region) and avoid use on clipped/shaved skin.

Coverage and visibility

A single pen typically marks 300–500 animals, depending on the symbol size and coat length. Visibility is best on light or mid-tone coats; these colours do not work on black fur.
